I popped by the Steven Kasher Gallery on my lunch hour to see the exhibit and sale of some marvelous vintage prints from The National Geographic Society. I had no idea that the Geographic society was founded in 1888. Wow!

This bird drawing is on the sidewalk by my job. I pass it everyday.

Love this mosaic on the wall in the 66st train station by Lincoln Center. I think it is suppose to be an opera singer.

I pass by this mosaic daily as well. Total girl power! College graduate, wife, mother and lawyer. This artwork is located on the side of a residential building. I like the positivity.

My glossy world just got a little smaller.

Our economy is eating up all my glossy magazines. First they closed Blueprint, House & Garden and then Domino. Today I read online that Conde Nast Publication will be closing Modern Bride
Elegant Bride, Gourmet, and Cookie magazine. It really is sad, soo many advertisers are pulling their ad's due to slow revenues in sales. All I can say is that I hope 2010 is a better year for our economy.

Bye bye to most stylish parenting magazine.

These little pups were absolutely adorable. I am seriously considering getting a pup next year.

First I need to do some serious research. Size,type and personality are big factors in the decision making process.

Ocktoberfest...No more like Ocktoberfiesta.....

My friend Juan invited me out to an Oktoberfest celebration in Brooklyn. Juan is the lead vocalist of the group Los Frijoles Negros( The Black Beans) which of course was our entertainment at the fest. What a wonderful time we had! truly an eclectic event. There were guest from Spain, Dominican Republic , Texas, Venezuela and so many other different places all coming together to celebrate Oktoberfest a German autumn festival that celebrates the consumption of beer. There was soo much food !!German sausage, chicken fritters with chimchurri sauce, roast pork, guacamole and chips, veggies and tons of beer from Germany, Belgium and Mexico. A diverse offering for an eclectic evening.

October 1st.............

Today is the 1st day of October. I awoke to the clicking and clacking of my radiator. Heat is on!! I have to admit I like it when the heat 1st comes up. I feel so cozy and snugly in my bed. The above photo is of my radiator. I use it as a shelf in the warmer weather but always keep it covered, since it is not so pretty as you will see in the next photo.
