d'amore dinner

i love being invited to a friends house for dinner so last night my friend jan and his mama who is visiting from rome had me over for our annual green pea soup meetup.........oh how i love the d'amore's and their pea soup.

the famous oh sooo very delicious and healthy pea soup...best ever!

viola! tasty food tons of italian wine and great company...who could ask for anything more?

i came home with leftovers yay! and a bottle of wine from jan and the colorful necklace and bracelet from aujke all the way from the asian markets in rome. aukje also gave me something super special which i will blog about later...stay tuned.

risotto so easy

i made risotto for the 1st time the other night. yumo! sooo easy, although you do need to stand nearby to make sure that you are constantly stirring...so worth it ! i made mine with parmesan cheese and roasted veggies.

reading....

i finished reading girls of riyadh. good entertaining read, sort of like girlfriends, sex & city but a saudi version.

nectar in a sieve is my next read, it comes highly recommended by my dear writer friend bronwyn.

happy friday. i love that the fall will soon bring us nice cozy weather, apples,pumpkins and booties! fall is the best time to rock your booties, of course mine got cut off in the pick above:(. enjoy the ones below.

nice end of a week

hooray it is finally friday! i survived the nuttiest week ever!  the one good thing was that the week ended with a sweet afternoon hanging out with my dear friend donna! she was in town from atlanta. soo nice she took me out for some yummy grub.

lunch at penang, you must try the spicy garlic chili mussels.

followed by dessert at my most favorite food- bakery/restaurant/catering service.

oh and look at these cool yet weird multi colored dyed roses that we spotted at a local flowershop.

yesterday i had a taste  of heaven......sheep milk cheese with black truffle.  two of my favorites cheese and truffles wrapped in one.....oh dear yum!
