   so glad the sun finally came back out, i am not ready to give up my bright summer wardrobe.

not ready for fall

 i know fall is right around the corner....but i was so sad to see so many leaves on the ground today while i was in the park with my little niece. stay longer summer! do not get me wrong, i love fall i just want to hang on to summer a bit longer.

 iris apfel.
i saw her walking at the international gift show show that i was attending and took a chance an introduced myself....well she was a sweetheart!!

and of course in true apfel fashion i was well accessorized...although my blouse was a little wrinkled due to the rain:(

onion saver

 this in a wonderful invention.....a onion storage case! i love love onions but it is so annoying when you have a piece left over and then have to wrap it up in a zillion pieces of paper or wrap to conseal the smell.
so amazing you just place the leftover piece in the case close and no soggy onion or smell in your fridge. i purchased mine in the chinatown area but you get one here.
ps. they ones for peppers to here.

met up with my dear friend chika this weekend who just started her new job as sous chef at the four seasons robuchon's restaurant....yeah her!!!! we caught up on girl talk at el paso mexican restaurant a first for the both of us....very tasty.

brooklyn botanical gardens

enjoy the images from a recent visit to the brooklyn botanical gardens.
what a wonderful peaceful oasis.
tip if you go on saturdays between 10am-12pm its free!
ps. i am adding to my try something new list....i have been to the gardens in the past but it was raining so i did not get a chance to completely explore it.

i cannot wait to see these trees filled with cherry blossoms in the spring.
