happy friday

3 things that made me extra happy today.

1st... i was invited to a private viewing of the steve mcqueen exhibit at the metropolitan museum of art,
2 words sums up my thoughts of the exhibit.....imaginative and brilliant!
fyi....pretty cool viewing a major exhibit in private with no crowds:) thanks dp!

2nd .....i purchased this amazing coffee table book........

 filled with 240 pages of mcqueen's radical designs.

3rd....i was given these swimsuits today! just in time for the memorial day weekend.

poaching

i love eggs, i make them scrambled, boiled, fried etc. but the one way i could never master until this morning was the art of making a poached egg. well about a week ago my friend chef tanaka taught me how to be a poacher, so today i tried it on my own, not bad on the 1st try( yes it is not the best looking egg, i'll get better soon).

it has been a while since i have posted about restaurants, here are a few.........
pictured above a burrito from the mexican restaurant mole.the location on allen st. is small and cozy, they serve up some good margaritas and the flan is to die for.

tapas at sol y sombra on the upper west side.
si ! si! try the gambas al ajillo, chorizo,croquetas and whatever else your tummy desires.

pizza! pizza! harry's italian pizza in the financial district.
easy, fun, relaxing, great after work crowd and tasty food & wine.

 50 commerce contemporary delicious american cuisine.
nice atmosphere, cool people watching and they serve up a good hamachi.

commerce gets super packed so make sure to reserve a table.

brooklyn diner...in midtown not brooklyn.
on the higher end compared to most diners and always a easy classic hit.

 and the ginormous chicken pot pie.

red rooster a nice twist on comfort food.

cornbread yum! mac & greens yum! shrimp and dirty rice yum!
i wonder what president obama ate when he went to red rooster?
tip- if you are going for dinner book a reservation and they do not take reservations for lunch or brunch.
